| If a picture is worth a thousand words, an interactive mathematical model
must be worth at least a million. Waterloo Maple's MathView
software lets high school students create live 3D plots and animations as
they explore mathematical concepts, visualize complex equations, and illustrate
real-world applications. What's more, MathView is web-enabled, so students
can upload their live math models to a school's web site, where anyone --
even parents -- can view and interact with their work using the free MathView
web browser plug-in. |

| Is your school district's Internet connection sluggish? Now you can look
to the heavens for relief. Just point the DirecPC
Network Edition dish at the southern sky, and you're set to slurp down
bandwidth from geosynchronous orbit at the rate of 400 Kbps, more than three
times as fast as ISDN. It's compatible with Windows NT Server, Novell NetWare,
and Linux-based local-area networks, and you can use your existing Internet
hookup -- even just a dial-up modem -- for the less critical upstream connection. |
