Power Macintosh G3

This is not a beige box

One look at Apple's redesigned Power Macintosh G3 computer tells you the iMac was no fluke. Celebrate the end of the dull beige box era with the colorful G3, which also happens to be blessed with high performance and ease of expandability. Available with the latest 400 MHz G3 processors, it offers built-in Ethernet, Universal Serial Bus, and FireWire connections -- and a lockable side panel that swings open to provide easy access to the three available PCI slots. Prices start at $1,599 without a monitor.

A real charmer

Remember the eMate? There's no reason to mourn the passing of Apple's little green laptop any longer, because the Vadem Clio is just as charming and offers features the eMate never had -- such as a color display and a built-in modem. Running the latest version of Windows CE, the Clio offers 12-hour battery performance in a 3-pound package for just $999. The innovative VGA display can even be flipped over for PowerPoint presentations or laid flat on top of the keyboard for pen-based computing.
