Director, Information Technology
The National School Boards Association (NSBA) seeks an experienced professional to strategically organize and manage the activities involved in the design, development and operation of its technology infrastructure and telecommunication systems, and ensure that staff has the technology tools necessary to perform their responsibilities. From a high level, this individual will manage the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of all IT systems, including servers, PCs, operating systems, telephones, software applications, and peripherals. The selected candidate will collaborate with Senior Management on long-range and strategic planning, and make recommendations for new technology.
Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field; 8 years IT experience, with 3-5 years of management responsibility; experience with MS-SQL, Microsoft Exchange and Office applications, systems analysis, networking, website, and database management, and telephone management. Demonstrated ability to lead a team of technical staff, to work with the Executive Management of an organization, and to manage multiple concurrent projects. A strong knowledge of data (wired/wireless) and telephone networks (LAN and WAN), copper and fiber optic wiring, cloud computing, directory systems, virtualization, disaster recovery, as well as other common information systems. Experience with crisis management and disaster recovery protocols. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to meet deadlines, to conduct and direct research into IT issues and products, and to take initiative in the development and completion of projects. Strong project management, organization, and time management skills.
