Web Developer
The National School Boards Association (NSBA) seeks an experienced professional to manage the user interface design and development of its websites, applications, and e-newsletters. The individual will also manage the staff intranet and community groups on third party software.
Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field; three years experience or technical training in website development and new features implementation; understanding of user centered design concepts; strong knowledge of web editing software (Dreamweaver, Photoshop) and languages (HTML, CSS, JavaScript), database concepts, and content management software; working knowledge of various database query/scripting languages (ColdFusion, ASP, SQL); and excellent proofreading, project management, oral and written communication skills. Experience with open source content management systems (Drupal or Joomla) is preferred. Sr. Manager, Library Services
The National School Boards Association (NSBA) seeks a customer service oriented professional to manage the operations of the NSBA library and research service, the national policy database, and its related services. This individual will generate information and research for NSBA members, staff, affiliated school districts, and the education community.
Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Library Science, Information Management, or related field; four years experience managing a library and administering broad-based research services; experience with database and index creation and management; ability to multitask and re-prioritize in a flexible and rapidly responsive manner; proven ability to evaluate and package search results in user-friendly formats; and excellent customer service, oral and written communication skills. Master’s degree in Library Science, Information Management, or related field, and knowledge of education policy issues are preferred.
