Sexual Harassment: Legal Pointers for Public Schools, a chapter of the School Law Primer offered by the NSBA Office of General Counsel, is a training program providing a basic understanding of the law on sexual harassment as it relates to employee claims brought under Title VII and student claims asserted under Title IX. It discusses the types of conduct covered by both statutes, some of the key issues surrounding each type of claim, and the standards that must be met before school districts can be held liable. The document includes an embedded, complete PowerPoint presentation.

Student-to-Student Sexual Harassment: A Legal Guide for Schools, a book by the NSBA Council of School Attorneys, provides information on how to prevent, respond to, analyze, and defend student-to-student harassment claims. In addition to discussing federal case law, it includes a section on policy development, advice on conducting investigations, tips for training, and analysis of the Office of Civil Rights' (OCR) guidelines and appendices containing OCR documents, sample policies, forms, and helpful checklists.

Sexual Harassment By School Employees, a book by the NSBA Council of School Attorneys, covers harassment that occurs between employees as well as employee harassment of students and discusses current federal case law, effective policy development, how to conduct internal investigations, training advice and resources and agency (OCR and EEOC) investigations.
