Joyce Epstein’s model of family involvement in schools

Joyce Epstein, Director of the Center on School, Family, and Community Partnerships at the Johns Hopkins University, has identified and described six types of parent involvement. Her framework is useful for reviewing policies and practices. Included here are links to a description of the six types of involvement as well as examples of how states have applied the model.
