About Our New Look

Welcome to the National School Boards Association's newly designed and re-engineered website! We know that some people like to browse a site and some people like tools to "search", so we've enhanced our site to accommodate both kinds of visitors. We wanted to make our site more user-friendly, so we have:

  • Designed a streamlined menu system on the homepage that shows you the sub-menus for the options below the level you are on. This allows you to "click" from the homepage to sub-menus faster and easier without having to navigating menu by menu.
  • Provided you with new tools on every page. You can click on "print page" to print the page you are looking at, "e-mail page" to e-mail the page, and "+" and "-" to increase or decrease the text size on the page.
  • Moved our "Search" box to a more prominent location in the upper right corner to make it easier to find. We have also included, in your search results, information found on NSBA's award-winning publication American School Board Journal's website. "Advanced" and "Keyword" search are found by clicking on the "Search" button.
  • Added a rotating graphical box of "HOT" news on the homepage to feature information we think our visitors will want to know more about quickly.
  • Created homepage content for "LEARN," "ACT," "JOIN," and "ATTEND" to help you quickly navigate the many different ways you can take advantage of the services, conferences, programs, and everything else that NSBA has to offer from "How to Contact Members of Congress" to "Key Issues in School Law."
  • Given you more destination places to "Log On" to content in our different member areas. Your login and password have not changed. You can still use your last name and the password set up in our member database to log in. There is no longer a "Log On" entry point on the home page. Rather, you will see a "KEY" icon throughout the site indicating that you will need to "log in" to see the "Members Only" content. For instance, if you go to the National Affiliate homepage, you will see the "Members Only" category and when you click on that link you are prompted to log in.
  • Identified different types of content with graphical icons:

     indicates the content is for "Members Only;"
    link iconindicates the content is a link to an outside site;
    category iconindicates this a category of information under which many documents are stored;
    Word icon, html icon,PDF icon, are indications throughout for document types such as Word, PowerPoint, HTML, PDF, etc.
