NSBA Announces Sandra Day O’Connor, Jamie Lee Curtis To Speak at 2007 Annual Conference

Alexandria, VA - September 27 - Retired Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor and actress Jamie Lee Curtis are two of the keynote speakers scheduled to address more than 10,000 school board members at the National School Boards Association's Annual Conference in San Francisco, Calif., April 14-17, 2007.  The school board conference is the largest gathering of public officials in the nation and showcases world and national leaders who offer encouragement and insights to school leaders.

Sandra Day O’Connor, a Stanford University graduate, became the 102nd justice and the first woman to be appointed to the Supreme Court.  Nominated by President Ronald Reagan in 1981, she served for nearly 25 years, until her retirement this year. 

Jamie Lee Curtis, daughter of Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh, is a Golden-Globe winning actress who has starred in such films as Halloween, True Lies, Freaky Friday, and A Fish Called Wanda.  Curtis has written several critically acclaimed children’s books and has been influential in addressing the issues of self-esteem and positive body image in today’s youth.
