Regarding the Bay County, Florida School Board Shooting
Alexandria, Va. and Tallahassee, Fla. (December 15, 2010) - “Our heartfelt thoughts go out to the entire school board and staff of the Bay County School District. There is no place for violence at a school board meeting or in our schools. This was an unfortunate incident and the school board and staff should be commended for handling it in a truly professional manner.
“Mike Jones, the head of security for Bay County School District and a former school board member, should be applauded for his heroism along with the school board members, superintendent, and other staff involved in this horrific ordeal.
“We are proud of the hard work and dedication school board members and school district staff in Bay County and throughout the country, do everyday to advance public education.”
