Mayors from the cities of Miami Gardens and Hialeah in Florida discussed compacts between their cities and the Miami-Dade County Public Schools. These compacts are examplesl of how responsibility for children's learning is shared by the school, home and community-at-large.  John Mackiel, Mayor of Omaha, Nebraska also joined the discussion.
