Richard Cook
President
Richard Cook, member of the Florence Three school board, was elected president of the South Carolina School Boards Association (SCSBA) during the association’s annual business meeting in 2011. Cook has served on the Florence Three board for more than 16 years, serving as chairman from 2005 to 2007 and as a member of various board committees.
Since his election to the SCSBA board of directors in 2005, Cook has served as a region director, secretary, treasurer, vice president and on various board committees. In addition, he is a board member of the association’s Workers’ Compensation Insurance Trust.
Cook manages the Lake City operations for SCE&G where he has worked for the past 42 years. He is a member of the Rotary Club and also serves on the board of directors of Northside Baptist Church. He and his wife Cheryl have two sons, Scott and Jason.
Dr. Paul Krohne
Executive Director

Dr. Paul Krohne holds his doctorate degree in school administration from Indiana University where he also received his Master's in elementary education. He earned a B.S. in elementary education from the University of Evansville.
Krohne joined SCSBA as executive director on January 1, 2001. Prior to joining SCSBA, he served as executive director for the New Hampshire School Boards Association (NHSBA) for seven years. During his 30-year career in public education, Krohne has also worked as a teacher, as the deputy commissioner of education with the Indiana Department of Education, as senior policy advisor for education in the Office of the Governor of Indiana, and as a professor of educational administration at both Ohio University and Furman University.
Krohne is a member of the American Institute of Parliamentarians and the National Association of Parliamentarians and is a frequent presenter at national and state meetings. He has served on the Federation Member Executive Directors' NSBA Liaison Committee three times and currently serves as Treasurer of the School Leaders Risk Management Association.
Krohne is the 2003 recipient of the NSBA Shannon Award.
