Eastern Townships School Board - Magog, Quebec, Canada

Today is Your Chance to “Live” the Future
March 28-30, 2010

One of the most frequently asked questions regarding the impact of technology in the classroom is: “How has it really impacted learning and teaching?”  In the Eastern Townships School Board (ETSB), Quebec, Canada, we are now into our seventh year of a 1:1 wireless laptop computer initiative for all students from Grades 3-11 (last year of high school in Quebec).  Add to this initiative an entire curriculum that is constructivist and inquiry-based, and you have the key ingredients to witnessing significant transformational change.

Delegates will get a first-hand opportunity to visualize and “experience” how their own classrooms in their district will emerge using technology, whether it be via laptop computers, cell phones, ipods, whiteboards, notebooks, etc.  Delegates beware, we will share the challenges and the successes!

The Eastern Townships School Board (ETSB) is nestled in one of the most beautiful areas of Canada.  Located 1 hour east of Montreal, Quebec and 1.5 north of Burlington, Vermont, the School Board territory borders Maine, New Hampshire, New York and Vermont.
